Smiling Faces and Loads of Trophies

Once again, the end of a year is facing us squarely in the face. A year that, for the Table Tennis fraternity, was filled with much activity, tenseness and excitement. And given all the projects that were completed expeditiously, a successful one at that.

 

The evening of the 17 November was the culmination of all the above. On the night, around 50 athletes, parents, administrators and friends of Table Tennis gathered at the Bosmont Recreation Centre to witness the acknowledgment of past exertions, past strains and past achievements. And many trophies were on offer.

 

A new for the GCTTA prize giving function, was the awarding of incentive trophies to deserving juniors by the Coaching Committee. A well deserved initiative that achieved what it set out to do.

 

To the above, and as is the norm, was the awarding of trophies and medals to all the winners and runners-up of the past GCTTA League season. A League that by the virtue of its composition, was full of excitement and, at times, frayed tempers. Nevertheless, it was also a season that managed to deliver excellent stroke play, fast exchanges and many new challengers to the various top trophies on offer.

 

The ‘sumptuous’ buffet table concluded the proceeding on a high note.
