From the desk of the Chairman

Dear Affiliates and Enthusiasts

Here we are at the start of a new year and at the start of a brand new set of Table Tennis activities.

In keeping with our past tradition, 2008 is going to be no different. There are tournaments, courses, coaching camps, club activities and every-day administrative issues to be sorted and contended with. Much of which will also demand much of your personal time and sacrifice.

First off the blocks will be the selection of an Executive Committee to take the Association to the end of 2009. This event, the GCTTA AGM, will take place on the 28th January 2008 at the Boskruin Centre.

Straight after, an ITTF Level 1 Coaching course will be held over the weekend of the 8th, 9th & 10th February 2008. Here we anticipate that all enthusiasts who are full of life about the sport of Table Tennis, and with a passion for coaching, will put their names forward to this once a year opportunity. This course will cover 20 hours of intensive instruction which will empower all participants with tools to take the sport into the next level of competitiveness.

The first planned-for tournament of the year, the GCTTA Junior Open, will take place on the 19th April at the Boskruin Centre. Once again we look forward to the massive support that has become synonymous with this type of tourney.

As usual, our website will be kept current and updated for your enjoyment.

And that is the first quarter of 2008 in a nutshell. So, without any further ado, I wish you all an exciting year filled with many enjoyable Table Tennis experiences.
