Seniors brave the cold with fiery play
By Filipe
As is now the tradition, June is GCTTA Senior Open month, and this year, it was no different. Saturday the 21st was D-day for the illustrious tournament, and once again, the Boskruin Centre played the fine host.
The only negative to the tournament was the absence of Botswana players, who phoned the night before to assure that they would be participating. Alas, they did not put in an appearance. So much the pity.
The morning kicked off with doubles play. Here, the pairing of Osuji and Ronald made a clean sweep of all opponents.
The singles events produced blistering play. Play that was sprinkled with amazing stroke play and many winning shots: a joy to watch and to administrate. Once again, the mastery of Osuji reigned supreme.
The eye opener of the tournament was watching the GCTTA U17 Juniors holding their own against their adult counterparts.
