SA Junior Team’s Training Camp

On behalf of the South African Table Tennis Board; We would firstly like to thank SASCOC for making it possible for our athletes to participate in a training camp through its twinning agreement with the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee. We therefore take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee for hosting a training camp for the SATTB’s junior athletes as they prepare for the Olympic Youth Games qualification tournament in Cairo. This training camp provides an excellent opportunity for the team to train with the athletes and coaches of the Chinese Taipei Table Tennis Association.

We are confident that our athletes will benefit immensely from this opportunity; after the visit to Taiwan the team will be travelling to Cairo, Egypt to participate at the International Africa Youth Championships (7-14 April 2014); that is a qualification for the ITTF World Cadet Challenge, the World Junior Championships and for the qualification for the 2014 Olympic Youth Games, but overall to improve their Africa ranking.

The SATTB also used this opportunity to expose up and coming coaches who produced the athletes and we are certain that this trip will add to the coaching ability of Coach Loyiso Nyosi.
