GCTTA player wins at WP Open

Western Province Open (Held : 21 to 26 April 2014)

Two of Gauteng’s junior players participated in the Cape Town event.

Aiden Schlome (Maccabi TT Club) played in the Boys U/14 event, ended a credible 5th having lost 2-1 in sets, in the quarterfinals to the eventual winner, Cade Peters (Bishop Lavis TT Club)

Danica Schlome (Maccabi TT Club) played in the Girls U/17 section, winning this event. She had 3-1 wins over both Jamiela Jassiem (Stephanians TT Club) and Savannah April (Ravens TT Club), who finished second and third respectively. Savannah April has previously presented South Africa at junior level. Jamiela and Savannah also played in the Ladies Open section and went on to contest this final. Savannah eventually winning a best of seven set match.
